Connecting to Messente

From the App launcher choose the "Messente" application. You will be presented with the following screen

The Messente for Salesforce tab shows you a dashboard with some overview statistics for the application to allow you to monitor usage. To send messages, the application must be connected to the Messente platform. Click the "Configuration" sub tab. You will be presented with the follwoing administration screen

The application requires a developer key set that can be generated within your Messente dashboard at https://dashboard.messente.com/api-settings. The dashboard will look like the following screenshot

Click "Create New API Key" and enter a name for the key as shown below

An API key will be presented and the credentials shown on screen as shown below (note that the credentials are hidden for security reasons in the image below)

In the "Configuration" tab of the Messente for Salesforce application, press the "Edit" button under the "Authentication Configuration" section and copy and paste the username and password from the credentials in the Messente dashboard into the correct fields in the Salesforce application and press "Save". The credentials will be successfully updated and you will be shown a success toast and the fields will contain the details in an obscured fashion. You can update these details at any point in the future to match a credential rotation policy if your organisation has one.

Congratulations! You have completed the setup necessary to connect Messente to Salesforce and can now start sending messages. depdning on your use case you may wish to do one of the following:

  • Add the out of the box components and/or messages related lists for your users
  • Send a message from a record page (complete the above step first)
  • Send a message via Salesforce Flow
  • Send a message via our Apex API
  • Configure delivery reporting for message status updates
